According to the Weight-Control Information Network, obesity is not just merely a problem involving your physical appearance. It is a real disease that can affect the functions of many of the organ systems within your body. Some of the direct and indirect complications of overweight and obesity include gallstones and gallbladder disease, nonfatty liver problem, gastroesophageal reflux or heart burn, joint pains and osteoarthritis, breathing problems and infertility and mestrual problems in female obese patients.

The best way to burn your excess fats is to be physically active.  And it has more benefits not only in your weight loss plans but in your overall health. Do you want to know the simplest form of exercise that can help you melt those fats away?

  • Don’t use the elevator or escalators. Use the stairs instead.  Using the stairs can help you burn more calories.
  • Get off the bus one stop earlier to your destination. By doing so, you can have some time brisk walking.
  • Walk or use your bicycle instead of using your car or your motorcycle when your destination is only a few meters to a kilometer away from your home.
  • Tidy up your garden and rake the leaves.
  • Wash your own car instead of asking the car wash personnel to do it for you.
  • If you have ample time, clean your own home.  Do not wait for your housekeeper to do it for you.
  • Go window shopping in a mall. But avoid passing by the attractive restaurants and eating areas. Eating can beat your purpose of burning calories.
  • Bring along your family and visit museums, zoos and parks. Why not visit the circus? Walking for a few hours can do you some good. And it can help you bond with your family too.
  • Take your dog for a walk after dinner instead of watching your favorite evening TV show.
  • In the office, take some breaks and stretch your tired muscles.

You see, burning calories does not always mean visiting the gym and working out.  You can be productive while having your regular physical activity. And by being active, you can burn those excess fats away!
